We have asked our customers to share a wellness hack that has massive impact on their lives and we will be featuring a selected participant every month. Ponchi Kantt-Neaz, Biotechnology Commercial Director from Newcastle has kindly shared her top hack to support her mental and physical health.
A jump start to my day is power breakfast and to me, this is a vital element of overall wellbeing. In my growing years, my mother passed on a maxim to me that ‘your body is your temple’ and since then looking after my body has been my priority which has served my lifestyle and work demands. I live in Newcastle and travel for work almost 80% of my time across the globe so my days can be very long. A hearty and healthy breakfast keeps me going for the day without having to binge eat on unhealthy food, junk and unnecessary snacking throughout the day. My favourite breakfast is overnight oats with blueberries and cinnamon.
- 35g Porridge Oats
- 1 cup Skimmed milk
- 2 tsp of Blueberries
- 1 pinch of Cinnamon
- ½ tsp of Chia seeds
Fill up the jar with rolled up oats, cinnamon and skimmed milk and place in the fridge for overnight soaking. Add blueberries and chia seeds before serving.
This is an easy yet delicious recipe and keep my mornings calm giving me elevated levels of energy. Soaking of the oats overnight make the texture soft and creamy that can be eaten cold and are easily digestible. This is a nutritious ready-to-eat and hearty breakfast that is loaded with fibre, protein, minerals and omega-3 fatty acids. Additional toppings like fruit or nuts can pump in the added nutritional benefits.
