Wellness 2021 Campaign – Virginia’s Rowing

We  have asked our customers to share a wellness hack that has massive impact on their lives and we will be featuring a selected participant every month.  Virginia Lladó-Buisán from Oxford has kindly shared her top hack to support her mental and physical health.

I started rowing as a way to be in contact with water and nature, whilst practicing a team sport. Soon after starting, I decided to try competitive rowing, which took me to do a few races in Oxfordshire and Paris, as well as the Great British Tour a few years ago. That was a wonderful time of discovery and fun with my crew mates, but also a moment to realise my goals with this magic sport. I do have a busy life as I work full time and have a young child, so I decided to row just for pleasure, which is just as good! I row weekly and I love that moment because it allows me to focus on just being there enjoying myself, looking after myself and my crew, listening to the boat rhythm and the water sounds, completely “in the moment”! Alongside my rowing, I love swimming and yoga, which I came to learn during lockdown through online sessions. I feel very lucky for being able to enjoy my body and mind through sport, which in turn makes me feel more able to support other aspects of life better. In the end of the day, it is all about finding and keeping a balance with what you have, listen to yourself and others, giving back your best to this world, whilst having a bit of fun too!
