Linda has watched this year's Dancing On Ice from the comfort of her living room.
She appeared in the show last year and is remembered for breaking her foot half way through the series.
“Dancing on Ice was the most exhilarating, demanding, and exciting thing I have ever taken part in. I loved every minute of it. I have never laughed so much.”
“Breaking my foot was truly awful and stepping back on the ice afterwards was terrifying but the confidence I gained from the experience was the most rewarding thing that's ever happened to me.”
“Now, whatever situation I'm in, I think back to that and it gives me the strength and coverage to carry on. Nothing can touch me!“
Linda still skates regularly. Her children also join her and she regularly meets up with her dance partner Daniel.
She credits Dancing On Ice for kick-starting her healthy regime, which she still continues.
Linda turned 50 last year but still looks fantastic and claims to have a healthy attitude to ageing.
“I feel pretty positive about being 50. I am often told that I don't look 50 so that is always a boost to my ego. I feel happy and healthy and I try to keep fit through diet and exercise.”
“The unhealthy attitude some women have to aging is due to the constant reminders everywhere we look that young and beautiful equals good and old and wrinkled equals bad. ”
“I think a lot of women feel pressured into looking good as they get older and end up having plastic surgery. I have nothing against surgery but I think some women have ruined their natural good looks by going too far. ”
Linda recognises that to successful in the entertainment business, looks are deemed as important.
“As an actress there is not so much pressure to stay looking young, as you will just be cast in older roles. It is especially important on TV and films for your skin to look good and your eyes to look bright and healthy as HDTV shows every imperfection. ”
“I don't follow a strict health and beauty regime. I think that is when you fail. I exercise when I have time and I feel like it. It usually ends up with me getting on the running machine twice a week for about 10 mins and doing 100 sit ups. With food, I eat what I like but in moderation.”
“I cut down on fats and exercise more if I want to drop a few pounds. My weight varies from 8st 2 to my heaviest 9st 5. I am about 8st 10 at the moment.”
“My best health advice is don't set unrealistic goals. Cut down rather than cut out. Do some sort of exercise every week. It's not only good for your body it's good for your mind and will make you happier.”
“One thing I do recognise as being important is calcium in my diet. Many women overlook this but as we get older, we're more susceptible to brittle bones and at risk from osteoporosis.”
“I am never sure which foods contain calcium so I take supplements to ensure I get my recommended daily amount. I am a big fan of Ellactiva calcium chews. They taste of chocolate and are low in calories. I'm not a great one for popping vitamins etc. so to have a chocolate chew that tastes yummy and is giving me my daily allowance of calcium is great.”
Calcium is also good for older women going through the menopause. It's claimed that you need 1000mg a day.
“My best beauty tip is to get 8 hours sleep at night. As I get older I find I need those hours to look good. I could get away with less when I was younger.”
“My least favourite part of my body is the cellulite on my legs. It did go when I did Dancing on Ice but its back again then again I was working out for more than 4 hours a day so it's hardly surprising!”
